Herringbone

Herringbone flooring is a pattern of rectangular blocks or planks arranged in a V-shape. The pattern resembles the skeleton of a herring fish, which is how it gets its name.

These patterned floors are created by staggering rectangles in a zigzag pattern. In herringbone parquet flooring, wood is cut into rectangles, rather than being cut at an angle, and arranged in broken zigzags.
